JOB DESCRIPTION: The Expanded Learning Coordinator at Arts in Action Community Middle School oversees the day-to-day implementation of the expanded learning programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and well-organized after-school, Saturday and summer school experiences for students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating the day-to-day for the ASES (After School Education and Safety) program/ ELO program
- Supporting with the supervision of after-school staff
- Ensuring school-wide management systems and policies are implemented to fidelity
- Ensuring lesson plans are submitted on time by program leaders
- Ensuring program leaders have the supplies/ materials needed for their groups
- Tracking of student attendance and sign-outs for the after-school programs
- Tracking of after-school program expenses
- Overseeing and coordinating the supper program (during after-school)
- Updating and ensuring student information is current in our after-school program information system
- Supporting in the hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating of after-school staff and teaching artists
- Supporting with the review and approval of hourly after-school program staff hours on our payroll system (in conjunction with school leadership)
- Supporting with the planning of after-school programs and showcases
- Supporting the summer school program
- Assist in after-school and expanded learning fundraising
- Meeting with and supporting after-school families
- Reporting safety, behavioral, academic or other concerns to school leadership
- Reporting to the School Director to ensure collaboration with the school’s classroom teachers, counseling team, accessible education team, and afterschool staff in implementing parallel educational themes from the classroom to the after-school program
- Supporting with other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of HS diploma, B.A. Degree Preferred (or currently working towards a BA)
- Demonstrated successful experience working with elementary/middle school-age students
- Demonstrated ability to work positively with staff and parents alike
- Bilingual (oral & written) Spanish/English is a plus!
WAGE AND BENEFITS: This is a full-time (30-40 hours weekly), 12-month hourly position. The hourly pay range ($28-$34) is determined based on years of experience and education units; a competitive benefit package is included.
